​With a theatrical career spanning over fifty years, Noel Koran is an accomplished stage director, educator, and administrator with deep expertise in opera, operetta, and Shakespeare. He has directed works by composers and playwrights such as Britten, Mozart, Puccini, Verdi, Lehar, and Shakespeare, and has led opera programs at major universities including The Ohio State University, Northwestern University, and The University of Washington. As an administrator, he served as Director of Performing Arts at Southern Oregon University and later as General Director of Tacoma Opera for 11 years. Also a seasoned performer, Koran has appeared on stage in a wide range of genres, from opera and musicals to works by Chekhov and modern playwrights.
