Biography

Mr. Josephson is one of opera's most versatile baritones and has sung with major opera companies around the world, including the Metropolitan Opera, where he has performed more than 250 performances of 29 roles including the title role in Rigoletto, Germont in La Traviata, and Marcello in La Boheme.  A champion of new music as well as the classics, he has sung 5 world premieres including Bolcom's A View form the Bridge, Previn's Brief Encounter, Stephen Schwartz's Seance on a Wet Afternoon, and Steve Stuckey's Classical Style.  He is the recipient of many prestigious awards, most notably the Giulio Gari Lifetime Achievement Award.
